The core of each system is the ADwin-Gold digital signal processor (DSP), offering real-time control and data acquisition. The ADwin has a dedicated Analog Devices SHARC® DSP processor, local memory, and high-speed 16-bit analog input and output. The time-critical processes are designed to run independently of the PC operating system so tests will continue uninterrupted without data loss.

A hardware system for measuring crack lengths via reversing DC potential difference (DCPD) is available that provides precision constant current supply and amplification. The system is custom manufactured by FTA and is intended to be used in conjunction with the ADwin-Gold processor and the FTA testing software.
